In our first coffee release, we provided in the description under tasting notes a new feature to the coffee industry that allows coffee to be exemplified in a way that has not been utilized before: "What it sounds like". This is where after tasting the coffee we collectively as a team discover what type of music the coffee pairs with based on the tasting notes. Once we find the particular album that lines up with the coffee perfectly, quite frankly it is a pretty dope experience. We intend to continue this process with each unique coffee we release.
Stay tuned and let us know your feedback, included is a description of our latest release: Burundi Masenga Village which pairs with "Some Cats Live, Some Cats Die" by Covey. Enjoy:
As you begin brewing so should the album start. The first track begins soft and inviting not to come on strong interim to the deep emotional richness in Freeman's voice.
By the time the next song begins it shows the body of the album which is a faded guitar mixed perfectly with a simple muffled tone of Freeman's voice. This album, just like the coffee doesn't seek attention or demand it out of you. The sound seems like you are always listening to it from another room with the door closed but the high notes draw you in for more until you have your face pressed against the wall.
The coffee itself is a coffee that is not asking for attention but as you grind it and smell it, the smell is so interesting you can't help but have your attention sparked, and as the taste begins as sharp rhubarb and apricot it unintentionally grabs your attention instantly finishing just in time as it has your full attention with a wine like body and heavy notes of caramel to leave an aftertaste that makes you contemplate how much Freeman is struggling with community and chasing dreams that sometimes die.
